Audiences are seeing more and more familiar IP hit the big screens for theatrical releases, but 2026 is looking like a big year for book-to-TV series adaptations. From whodunit mysteries and heated romances to superheroes and a horror icon, streaming services have banked on the bookworms to show up for these upcoming series binges. Check out what’s flipping from the page to the screen.
Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials
Streaming On: Netflix
Release Date: January 15th
No one does whodunits quite like the great novelist Agatha Christie. Seven Dials is a three-part miniseries starring Mia McKenna-Bruce (The Witcher), playing a detective trying to solve a murder in the 1920s, after a party prank goes wrong. The cast is stacked with possible suspects, including Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Release Date: January 18th
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the second spin-off of one of the world’s biggest TV hits, Game of Thrones. This series takes place a century prior to Game of Thrones and a century post–House of the Dragon, an era where the Targaryens sat upon the Iron Throne. The series is centered around an unlikely duo played by Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, with a much different tone than what GOT fans are accustomed to. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on George R. R. Martin novellas.

Based on a novel of the same name by Catherine Ryan Howard, Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia star in this erotic thriller as a couple who go from meeting in a supermarket prior to a pandemic lockdown to one of them being found dead. Their relationship is unexpected and intense, but what happened to lead one of them to their death?

A forensic pathologist uses her brilliance to solve crimes throughout the United States. Scarpetta has a star-studded cast with Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, and Ariana DeBose. This drama is based on a book series by Patricia Cornwell.
Imperfect Women

Release Date: March 18th
Imperfect Women is adapted from a novel by Araminta Hall. This psychological thriller stars actresses known for big roles in the world of television, Kerry Washington (Scandal), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Kate Mara (Class of ’09). These women play best friends whose lives are turned upside down after a horrible crime.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Streaming On: Apple TV+
Release Date: April 15th
A new miniseries starring Elle Fanning as a Hooters waitress and prior pro-wrestler who turns to OnlyFans in order to make money, after getting pregnant by her college professor. This drama-comedy is based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel and will have guest appearances by Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Marcia Gay Harden, and Greg Kinnear.
The Vampire Lestat

Release Date: TBD (Summer 2026)
Interview with the Vampire is a beloved book by Anne Rice, and The Vampire Lestat will cover the second book in the series. Although it has a different title, this will technically be the third season of the Interview with the Vampire AMC series. Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson still play the series stars, but this time they’re in the 1980s, filled with rock music and what’s sure to be a lot of lust and longing.
Lanterns

Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler star in this adaptation of DC Comics’ Green Lantern. Lanterns won’t be a typical superhero show, as this series will center around characters Hal Jordan and new recruit John Stewart in a procedural mystery as they investigate a murder on planet Earth.
Every Year After

People have been highly anticipating this adaptation of Carley Fortune’s romance bestseller Every Summer After. The story is a friends-to-lovers tale and a nostalgic look back at first love over a series of summers. This show will star Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornett.
East of Eden

John Steinbeck’s novel is adapted to a limited series, East of Eden, which stars Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, and Mike Faist. The story is of two California families through generations from the Civil War era to World War I as they are destined to mirror the story of Cain and Abel.
Carrie

The King of Horror, Stephen King, has yet another book-to-film adaptation with Carrie. Although there has been a film prior, this will be the first time Carrie has been adapted to a series format. The story is about a young girl with telekinetic powers who is bullied by her peers and put on edge by her overbearing mother. Carrie will star Summer H. Howell, Samantha Sloyan, and Matthew Lillard.
